Brand & Creativity

If your brand had a signature scent, what would it smell like?

A sexy, French beach!  Fresh, intoxicating, and vibrant.

What’s a totally unexpected place where you found inspiration for your brand?

We consider ourselves a solutions brand first, so we often look to solutions-oriented companies in other industries for creative and site ideas that efficiently help our customers find the solutions she’s looking for in swim.  The beauty industry is especially good at communicating the psychology of how a product makes you feel vs. what it does for you.

What’s one tiny detail in your products that people might not notice but means the world to you?

Our hidden internal construction is the magic of our swimsuits.  They are lined in power mesh over the tummy and waist areas, it’s so comfortable that, as a customer, you might not even notice, but it delivers the ultimate sculpting and smoothing to the final look!

Personal Style & Vibe

What’s your go-to outfit when you’re running around making boss moves?

I am very into monochromatic looks, especially bright colors that you don’t usually see head-to-toe.  I have a sapphire blue Zara suit that is a complete power play with a bright blue blouse.

What’s a color you’re obsessed with right now?

I always love red because it makes your face look instantly alive.  We do a beautiful hot pepper red in our swim that has been a bestseller since we launched.  I love mixing burgundy with deep red and a flash of neon pink in regular clothing.

What’s a piece of clothing or an accessory that you’ll never let go of?

I am a huge statement jewelry fan.  The bigger the better!  Especially with swim and resort clothing, big organic jewelry catches compliments and the eye.  I’ve been known to make a wallhanging into a necklace:)  I have a shell necklace from St Barths from years back that may have been a hanging planter at some point, and I adore it.

Lifestyle & Personality

What’s your dream way to spend a Sunday morning?

I have a three-year-old, so sleeping past 9 am would be heaven!  If Lil is not around, I like to start my day lazy with a giant coffee and get a good workout within the first two hours of waking up (or else I will abandon ship!)

What’s one thing in your bag that you always have but rarely use?

I carry many “JIC” items (just in case) because of my toddler daughter: wet wipes, glitter tattoos, extra snacks, kiddo hair ties, purse-size games, and crayons.  My purse is a clown car. Most of the time, I am just lugging 10 extra pounds for no reason, but it's worth it because if something happens or I need a half hour of distraction, I am ready!   The joke is that without her, the only things I really need are lip gloss and my phone.  I am the girl who couldn’t fly for an overnight without checking a bag before Lil (I used to be allergic to packing light), but after carrying all of Lillian’s stuff for three years, I am ready to go, full-on nomad, if it means free hands!

What’s the best compliment someone has ever given your brand?

We often get notes from women sharing personal stories about renewed confidence wearing our products and how they feel about themselves in our swim.  Women are very self-critical, especially when it comes to swimwear.  We aim to change that and empower women to feel their best in a swimsuit.  Reading these vulnerable notes makes us feel proud that we really are making a difference in women’s lives.
